Leah Chavie Service
Walking in to Lincoln Park’s Leah Chavie Skin Institute last week, Coco and I had no idea what we were in for.
It all started with the usual creature comforts that you expect from pampering: warm music, warm bed, warming aromatics, and the warmest smile you’ve ever seen from skin care guru Leah. But when it gets down to it, nothing is ordinary about the experience. Leah is as passionate about the art of skincare as it gets. Taking a clinical and customized approach, she leaves no stone unturned. Here is a snippet of our journey from relaxation to results:
I. A Soothing Entrée.
o Relaxing facial wash with refreshing toning
o Rejuvenating black salt mask
o Deep neck and shoulder massage with tingling oils
II. The Scientist Emerges.
o Once we were good and relaxed, Leah took the magnifying lens and truly analyzed all layers of the epidermis, finding any and all imperfections or deficiencies
o She extracted what she could and then talked through her plans for the rest of our session.
III. Leah Gets Serious. Skin care guru unveils her arsenal of celebrity-skin weaponry:
Leah was excited to start with this pain-free, highly-effective exfoliation technique that uses a surgical razor to gently scrape the skin. It efficiently removing all dead skin cells and peach fuzz from your face. It left our skin smooth as a baby’s bottom.
o Laser Skin Tightening
Next Leah waves her magic laser wand!! Laser Genesis therapy promotes vibrant and healthy looking skin by stimulating deep layers of the skin – inaccessible with mechanical exfoliation - to produce new collagen. Laser therapy works beautifully to minimize the appearance of fine lines, pigmentation, and sagging skin.
o IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)
For one of us, Leah felt it was important to take it up a notch further. She puled out the IPL machine on Coco, bent of attacking some sun spots from her Alabama youth. This was not exactly pleasant, but a week later she can see the reduction in dark spots.
Leah had one more trick up her sleeve before we wound things down with more relaxing lotions and potions. She thought micro-needling would be great for Danielle. Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, micro-needling creates controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce increased collagen and elastin. It’s also a perfect pre-step before applying topical serums and gels to clam the skin down.
After all this intense therapy, Leah next cooled down our skin with some targeted oxygen blasts. Her tube of clean, pure oxygen refreshes the skin and increases circulation. Oxygen is great for cell metabolism, wound-healing, and
o Stem Cell
Finally, we end with the CRÈME DE LA CRÈME of therapies. These perfect cells are taken from bovine… yes, from cows and flown over on dry ice from Europe. Developed by DNA Health Institute, these perfect molecular structures absorb into the skin, promote rapid skin regeneration and deliver all the nutrients critical for glowing, skin. The effect is restorative as well as cosmetic. You will SHINE afterwards..
